Devils Bridge is a neat place, with three bridges built on top of another to cross some rather impressive falls.
It was quite a long trek down, and a hefty one back up, but it was well worth it to see the amazing fall colours that were everywhere and the gnarled trees.

The falls themselves went on for quite some time, with several nice splash pools on the way down:

The chasm the river has cut through the valley is impressive and beautiful as well!

And finally, a picture of clouds moving in toward Aberystwyth from the tall hill to the north of the town:

The first day in Wales again brought up lots of memories of our last trip there, ten years ago. I immediately set off across in a straight line, across field and gate to get where I wanted to go. Luckily, on the way back to town (after a long day of tramping across the countryside) there was as a path that was neatly nestled between ivy-covered trees.

And here is one of the niftier ivy-covered trees:

The fall Welsh countryside is usually predominated by green; lots of green grass, lots of heather, and lots of gorse bushes, without too many of the flowers that make up it’s springtime brightness. So when I found this delicate flower blowing in the wind, I was more than happy to spend a few minutes trying to get it to hold just so for me.

The internet we had in Wales was extremely slow, and I was out all day taking photos, so the posting of pictures has been a bit delayed.
But, these are from Hyde Park in London, before we took a train out to Aberystwyth in Wales.
I love the gnarly trees you see everywhere in Britain—these three were some of my favourites for the day:

And this rose trellis was really a nice place to be, beautiful and quiet, safely hidden from the goings on of London!

I’ve always liked paths in the woods, so they will show frequently here:

And this bridge is always neat in the summer when everything is green..

Luckily, I’ve been able to avoid it for the most part, but my partner has not. So I’ve been taking care of her lots, and I bought some flowers to help cheer the room up. Which is nice because when she got sick, it looked like this:

Which was fun in itself, but some nice warm colours really help the room out lots:

We got off to a late start on our Deception Pass hike, but we still had quite a bit of sun to hike through, and some amazing views of Mount Baker “peaking” through the trees.
In the first picture, there are two bald eagles!

And here is the sun setting as we finished our hike.

The fog was back again this morning, and I got to walk a different path through it. I found a few trees which complimented the fog rather nicely.

Today was just immensely foggy, all day long.
We had about 20 minutes of patchy blue behind the clouds, but aside from that, it was eerily foggy out all day.
It was actually quite a lot of fun to be out in, and fun to take pictures in (when the lens didn’t fog up!)
These two are from parks near us here in Seattle.

We have been out of town for some of the holidays and saw snow there.
We got back yesterday and tonight we have about 3 more inches.
How very silly for the Pacific Northwest!
The snow is very very wet tonight, it piles up really high on thin branches, which makes for some fun photos, but the plants don’t care for it as much.
Anyway, enjoy!

We got a lot more snow yesterday and today!
We have over 6-inches of snow; in Seattle!
It is quite silly out, and a good opportunity for nifty photos.
Hope everyone’s keeping warm!

But it was a good day for a hike, even if I couldn’t take many photos.
It wasn’t too cold out, the rain was intermittent enough that we didn’t get soaked.
The sky was a fairly even shade of grey, without distinct clouds to punctuate it, so it made for a nice, if somber backdrop for trees.

But in between the bouts of rain, or when we were under enough of a canopy to keep us dry, there were opportunities for neat shots of water drops on plants.

This morning was foggy and cold, but it was a neat quiet environment to go shoot some photos in..
The light was really soft, and I couldn’t shoot very far away because everything got ghosted out by the fog, but it was really neat out!
Here’s a few pictures!
