Tiny Pines
These tiny pine trees are growing on top of Hurricane Ridge on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. When wind comes across the Pacific Ocean, one of the first places it meets land is at Hurricane Ridge. Consequently, the trees up there are stout and strong, and grow slowly, like natural bonsai trees. They are surrounded by delicate wildflowers.
