Eagles

We went for a day trip to the Skagit River valley to watch for some eagles, and it was a beautiful day and it was a fun drive, so everyone came out a winner, especially considering some of the photos I managed to catch of some of the eagles.

We saw about a dozen of them through-out the day; some were by the road, others were well off, but most were next to the Skagit River, waiting for salmon. We only saw a couple in flight (and of course it was usually when I didn’t have the camera in hand) but seeing them in flight is amazing; they are huge birds.. Just seeing them in a tree it’s obvious that they are fairly good sized birds, but to see one take off is something else.
