Sunny Summer hike in the Verdant Green

We recently took a nice relaxing walk on Cougar Mountain on a sunny day; the verdant greens were so beautiful with the sun back-lighting them.

Wallace Falls

We went for a nice hike last weekend up to Wallace Falls which was really beautiful!

There were lots of amazing falls all the way up!

The area was logged in the early 20th century ; there were remnants of old huge redwood trees around, this one had lots of moss growing around.

This root was just beautiful coming up out of the ground.

There were lots of nice quiet babbling streams like this one:

Red and pink flowers

While spending some time with my parents, I caught these two gorgeous roses from my mum’s garden:

On display at Seattle Bank for Wallingford Art Walk

This week marks the return of Art Walks to Wallingford, Seattle – on the first Wednesday of each month, participating businesses display local art, provide refreshments, and live music. My photography will be on display at Seattle Bank at 44th and Stone Way for this month’s Art Walk, and for the rest of the month of May. Come by and see! The art walk will be lots of fun!

Come see my photos at Mighty-O Donuts!

During the month of April, some of my photos will be on display at Mighty-O Donuts! Come get a yummy vegan organic donut, delicious fair-trade coffee (I especially like the toddy coffee!), and look at my photos while you eat.

More evidence of spring-like weather

It was almost 60 degrees at 9pm last night, and the wind felt even warmer than that!

It was amazing.

There were even bees out in some of these beautiful flowers:

Has Spring arrived early?

Probably not, but it sure felt like it today!
The air felt mild and smelled of springtime, and there were little flowers growing all around!
One block in particular had an overwhelming smell of flowers; it was wonderful!

More evening walks

Green Lake is a great place for many reasons, but the sunsets given over the water are frequently just amazing!

Christmas Day Hike

We traditionally go on a Christmas day hike by ourselves, but for the first time, we had *our* dog along with us (in the past, we have had a dog who was kicked out of the house for Christmas walk with us for the day)

Unbridled Optimism Dog:

It was a really gorgeous day for hiking, no snow, but beautiful!

And cold:

Frozen Lake fun!

We’ve had really unusually cold weather lately, and much of Green Lake was frozen (there’s a warm and a cold side of it, and the cold side was frozen enough for us to tempt fate by walking on it, but the warm side was completely unfrozen)

There is a bird sanctuary island in the lake and an eagle was resting in one of the trees there, but the beauty of the ice & the sunset (and the fact that the eagle was rather small and far away) make for a more impressive picture.
